Vision
Every JYian A Self-Directed and Collaborative Learner Through The Use of IT.
Mission
To build a pervasive culture of promoting effective use of ICT into the school curriculum to enhance pedagogy that engages collaboration and self-directed learning.
Overview
At JYSS, the Information Technology (ICT) Department leads the charge in harnessing technology to enrich the educational experience for all JYians.
Our core mission is to cultivate a school-wide culture of purposeful and effective ICT integration that enhances pedagogy and supports both collaborative and self-directed learning.
Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) form a cornerstone of our technology-enabled learning environment. These devices empower students to take ownership of their learning, enabling both individual and group engagement across subjects. Beyond the classroom, PLDs extend learning into the home through home-based learning activities. Students can revisit lessons, explore a wide array of digital resources—such as the Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS)—and pursue their interests at their own pace.
Our teachers are committed to crafting meaningful, technology-infused learning experiences that equip students with critical new media literacy skills. Through these experiences, students learn to connect, curate, and create in an increasingly digital world. Complementary digital tools such as online calendars and note-taking applications further support students in managing their learning effectively.
We believe that the true power of technology lies not in the tools alone, but in how they transform teaching and learning—preparing our students to thrive as lifelong learners in a digitally connected future.
