To cultivate lifelong learners with an awareness and interest in the application of Science in their daily lives.
Overview
At Juying, we believe Science begins with curiosity and grows through discovery. The Science Department nurtures JYians who ask questions, investigate possibilities and use scientific thinking to better understand the world around them.
Our curriculum builds strong foundations in core scientific ideas while connecting Science with STEM through authentic, hands-on learning. Educational technology enables teachers to customise learning experiences, deepen understanding and engage students in exploring scientific concepts in new ways.
In 2026, we extended STEM learning beyond the classroom through a collaboration with Sembcorp, giving students opportunities to learn about sustainable energy and see how Science can contribute to solving real-world challenges.
Through inquiry, experimentation and authentic experiences, we nurture scientifically literate JYians who remain curious, think critically and recognise that Science is not only about understanding our world, but imagining how we can make it better.
Program and Activities
At our school, the Science Department is dedicated to bringing the world to our school and taking learning beyond the classroom to nurture a true joy of learning. Through immersive journeys across Singapore, we bring textbook concepts to life and spark deep curiosity in our students.
