Overview

The Mathematics Department aims to inculcate lifelong learning dispositions in our students such as being intrinsically motivated, being self-directed in learning and being critical thinkers. 

Teachers incorporate various strategies to enable students to explore, demonstrate and reflect on their learning. We strive for innovative ways to bring out the joy of learning Mathematics, instill confidence in mathematics communication and be promote adaptive thinking in solving mathematical problems in a variety of contexts. The PLDP provides greater opportunities for exploration and for students to work collaboratively to deepen their learning.

1. Providing Learning Experiences in real life context to engage and motivate learners.

2. Bridging sessions to boost confidence and skills in numeracy and mathematical thinking.

3. Focused Group Consultation for targeted learning.

4. PDLP to promote self-directed learners with intrinsic motivation.

5. Incorporating STEM education to promote students who are curious, creative and who aspires to be the change.

6. Using oracy to promote metacognition and peer assessment.

7. Incorporating SAIL to promote active and independent learning.

8. Incorporating computational thinking to develop problem thinking skills.
