Student Well-Being
Nurturing a Caring Community Where Every Student Can Thrive
At Juying Secondary School, we believe that students learn and grow best when they feel safe, valued, connected, and supported. Student well-being is a shared responsibility across our school community, and we seek to create an environment where every student has a strong sense of belonging and the confidence to navigate the opportunities and challenges of growing up.
Through Character and Citizenship Education (CCE), students develop greater self-awareness, learn strategies for self-care and emotional regulation, build healthy relationships, and make responsible choices both online and offline. Our Peer Support Leaders (PSLs) further contribute to a culture of care by looking out for their peers, encouraging inclusion and promoting positive relationships.
Positive relationships with caring adults are also an important part of our approach. Teachers connect with students through their everyday interactions, while Year Heads conduct regular check-ins to better understand how students are doing. Students are encouraged to seek help when they need it, with School Counsellors, Student Welfare Officers and other partners providing additional support where appropriate.
Through these collective efforts, we seek to nurture students who continue to grow, believe in what they can do, value themselves and others, and experience a strong sense of connection to the Juying community — students who iGROW, iCAN, iVALUE and iBELONG.
